During 2024 the project has organized a research school for master and PhD students at Espegrend biological station from 10 to 14 June with 12 students and 12 instructors. Both NERSC and UiB acquired new optical and acoustical instruments to make measurements in the research school and in subsequent field campaigns. The research school had focus on practical field work with different instruments and collection of data from the fjord outside Bergen. The students got first hand knowledge about the instruments, how they are used for data collection and experience in planning of the field work. One group of students worked with optical data and another with acoustical data, including training in processing and analysis of the data. On the last day of the research school the students presented preliminary results of their work.
The students collected data which they could use further in their PhD and Master theses. After the research school two reports were prepared: one on the acoustics work and one on the optics work.
